Credentia will not collect, use, store or publish the personal information provided by you, including that of a candidate/employee who’s background verification is facilitated through Credentia’s Services without consent save and except as stated in this Privacy Policy and/or in the General Terms & Conditions and/or our Master Services Agreement.

Information We Collect

General

In general, you can visit this website without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. We routinely collect certain device-related and analytics information about our visitors and their use of our websites. Please note: As our platform facilitates the verification process, and we do not interact with candidates/employees, it is the responsibility of our Customers (the employers or hiring entities or background verification service providers) to obtain the necessary consents from candidates or employees for the collection, storage, and processing of their personal data on our platform.

Provided that, any information that is freely available or accessible in public domain or furnished under the Right to Information Act, 2005 or any other law for the time being in force shall not be regarded as sensitive personal data or information.

Purpose of Collection and Use

We primarily use the information we collect to deliver and improve our Services to you and to fulfil obligations under the applicable law and under our contractual arrangements with you.

We also use the collected information for purposes including, but not limited to:

Please note that all Credentia’s employees, managers, officers, authorized personnel, agents, sub-contractors, and other persons who deal with or have right to access data, and information are essentially required to comply with confidentiality, fidelity and secrecy obligations and sign covenants in this regard.

Data Retention

We will not retain personal information that we have collected for a duration longer than is required for the purposes for which the information was collected to be used or is otherwise required to be retained under any applicable law for the time being in force.

We implement industry-standard security measures—including encryption, multi-factor authentication, and regular security audits—to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. We will continue to enhance our security procedures as new technology becomes available.

Despite these reasonable efforts to safeguard personal information from loss, theft, alteration, or other types of misuse, we cannot guarantee that such loss will never occur. There is always a risk that a third party, without our authorization, might unlawfully access our systems or otherwise access personal information.
